February 14th, 2017 by AnyChart Team

Devies Awards 2017 by DeveloperWeekWe are proud to tell you today that our company AnyChart has won the JavaScript Technologies category at the 2017 Devies Awards! The ceremony took place yesterday in San Francisco, CA, as part of DeveloperWeek, the world’s largest developer conference and expo with 8,000 attendees. Our CEO Anton Baranchuk received the award on behalf of the AnyChart team.

The DeveloperWeek Advisory Board received hundreds of nominations and, of course, thoroughly studied how much we did last year. What excited the judges most was the public release of our JavaScript graphics library GraphicsJS. And they concluded that to be last year’s most notable innovation in JavaScript technologies, exceptionally meaningful to the whole web development community.

The Devies Awards celebrate the most innovative companies in the field of developer technologies across 13 categories. Together with AnyChart, among this year’s winners are industry giants Microsoft and IBM.

Best in JavaScript Technologies: GraphicsJS by AnyChart

AnyChart is the winner of the Devies Awards in the JavaScript Technologies category with its powerful lightweight open-source graphics library GraphicsJS

GraphicsJS is a powerful, lightweight JavaScript library for drawing and animation, with an intuitive API, based on SVG/VML. We have been using it as the graphics engine in our JavaScript (HTML5) based data visualization solutions AnyChart, AnyMap, AnyStock, and AnyGantt for more than three years. In September 2016, we released GraphicsJS as a free open-source JavaScript library to allow everyone else to make good use of its powerful functionality in various solutions.

If you’d like to learn more, please read the Introducing GraphicsJS, a Powerful Lightweight Graphics Library article on SitePoint, published just a few days ago. It contains a quick intro and an interesting tutorial on how to quickly create art masterpieces and a simple time-killer game in less than 50 lines of code.

“AnyChart is a great example of how more and more of the new wave of developer technologies are empowering developers to build more powerful and more scalable apps faster than ever,” said Geoff Domoracki, Founder of DeveloperWeek.

Well, thank you Geoff so much! And thanks to all the judges! But in the first place, thank you, our dear customers, for your trust and support! Such a recognition of our JavaScript technologies proves you’ve made the right choice. So, this is primarily your victory, and we are glad to share it!
