  Nightingale Rose Chart

Description

Nightingale Rose Chart (also known as Coxcomb Chart or Polar Area Diagram) is a peculiar combination of the Radar Chart and Stacked Column Chart types of data visualization. It has the same advantages as a Stacked Column Chart and is helpful when working with cyclic data (months, seasons, etc.).

Nightingale Rose Charts became popular after English statistician Florence Nightingale famously used such a visualization to display data on how many soldiers died in hospitals during the Crimean War.

A Nightingale Rose Chart is useful in exploring statistical data. Meteorologists utilize this chart type as a graphical tool for illustrating a wind rose.
