Range Charts are used when we need to show how a range of data has been changing in time or in case when we compare ranges of something somehow connected or identical but in different categories, which are represented on the category axis (predominantly the horizontal one). These charts are often used in meteorology, finances and everywhere where statistics is important and explored.
This sample shows monthly dispersion of temperature values during the 2010 year. The area between the lowest and the highest temperature rates is filled with light blue color and is stroked from the both sides. The stroking lines are in spline mode, which makes smooth, soft connections between the points. The points are being highlighted with a circle marker (this one is enabled by default) on the top area border. Months are distributed along the horizontal X-Axis, and the values (in °F) from 0 to 120 are spread along the vertical Y-Axis. When you hover a point, its tooltip shows up. A tooltip contains the information about its point: month, the highest and the lowest temperature rates. Points can be selected: just click at the necessary one. To select plenty of points simultaneously, click at all points you need while holding the Shift or Ctrl (cmd for Mac) key.
