Barmekko Chart

Bar Mekko Chart (also known as Variable Width Bar Chart) is commonly a single-series variation of the Mekko Chart type, where the numeric Y-axis is not tied to percentages (ratios), making it resemble a regular Column Chart.

Bar Mekko Charts work well to display both positive and negative values. The width of each column is determined by additional parameters in data.

It is possible to draw multiple series in a Bar Mekko Chart. But in this case, values must be stacked along the Y-axis, and the category width will be determined according to the ratios between the sums of the category points (like in the Mosaic Chart type).

Bar Mekko Charts are helpful in visualizing profit pools by means of depicting the sales volume along the X-axis and the gross (or operating) profit margin on Y.
