Area Charts are popular when it is necessary to show how a continuous value changes during a period of time.
This Chart demonstrates monthly changes of the site visits amount during 2014. It uses logarithmic Y-Axis as this amount is spread quite widely - the minimum value is 34 (in October) and the maximum is 5730 (July). Using logarithmic axis helps to make such low values visible next to the high ones. The grid on the chart is enabled, so it is easier to watch the values.
