The Money Flow Index (MFI) is a volume-weighted oscillator that ranges from 0 to 100, measuring buying and selling pressure by combining price and volume data. Readings above 80 typically signal overbought conditions while readings below 20 indicate oversold levels, making MFI particularly useful for confirming price moves with volume flow.
This sample plots CSCO daily OHLC data on the main plot and calculates the MFI with period 10, rendered as a spline-area series in a 30% height subplot. The scroller uses an OHLC series for a detailed full-range overview. The chart includes dual Y-axes on both plots, a range picker, and a range selector, with the default view from November 2003 to April 2008.
