Pie charts are circular statistical graphics where each slice represents a proportion of the whole. When a dataset contains many small values, the built-in grouping feature merges them into a single “Other” slice so the chart stays clean and readable.
This sample displays cosmetic product sales with nine items, four of which fall below 1,000 units (Nail Polish, Eyebrow Pencil, Eyeliner, Eyeshadows). A custom grouping function collapses all values under 1,000 into one combined slice, leaving five main products — Rouge, Foundation, Mascara, Lip Gloss, and Lipstick — plus the grouped remainder. The interactive legend lets visitors hover to highlight and click to explode individual slices.
Follow the step-by-step Pie Chart Tutorial to learn how such charts are built. See the Pie Chart documentation for all configuration options.
