Donut (doughnut) charts display part-to-whole proportions as a ring of slices with a hollow center. That center area can embed rich content — including other chart types — creating compact mixed-visualization layouts.
This sample places a U.S. choropleth map inside the donut’s 80% inner radius, coloring each state by one of six sales regions (Northeast, Midatlantic, Southeast, Midwest, West, Great Lakes). The surrounding donut ring shows corresponding regional revenue shares with matching colors, while two center labels display “SALES” and the $212,600,000 total. Slice labels are hidden in favor of a right-side legend for a clean geographic dashboard look.
Follow the step-by-step Donut Chart Tutorial to learn how such charts are built. See the Donut Chart documentation for all configuration options.
