The Fast Stochastic Oscillator is a momentum indicator that compares a closing price to its price range over a given period, producing %K and %D lines. The fast version applies minimal smoothing, making it highly sensitive to price changes — ideal for short-term trading signals and identifying overbought/oversold conditions.
This sample renders CSCO daily data as a spline series on the main plot and computes the Fast Stochastic oscillator with kPeriod 40, kMAPeriod 10, dPeriod 5, and EMA smoothing for both %K and %D in a 30% height subplot. The %K line is styled in red (#e24b26) and the %D line in green (#6e9c4e). The chart includes dual Y-axes, a synchronized line scroller, a range picker, and a range selector, with the default view from December 2001 to March 2003.
