The current post sheds light on a\u00a0situation when you only have <strong>Single-Value Data<\/strong> that can serve as <strong>Indicators<\/strong> of the current performance. In this quite widespread case, plotting each value on a separate chart often makes sense. That is where Gauges and Bullet charts come into play.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>List of Chart Types for Single-Value Data Visualization<\/h2>\n<p>Generally, there are two basic chart types that work best for\u00a0visualizing single-value data as indicators. In fact, we&#8217;ve already mentioned them in the introduction.\u00a0But here they are again, just in case:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Linear and Circular Gauge charts;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bullet charts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You are welcome to find out the details on them below: purpose of use, some worth noting peculiarities, and examples.<\/p>\n<h2>Choosing Charts to Display Indicators (Single-Value Data)<\/h2>\n<h3>Linear and Circular Gauge<\/h3>\n<p>Generally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anychart.com\/chartopedia\/chart-types\/linear-gauge\/\" target=\"_blank\">Linear Gauge<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anychart.com\/chartopedia\/chart-types\/circular-gauge\/\" target=\"_blank\">Circular Gauge<\/a> charts are the most suitable chart types to choose for <strong>displaying single-value data<\/strong> and are widely used in dashboards. Technically, the Bullet chart is a single-value chart, because it displays current performance against a target value.<\/p>\n<p>This type of chart is great for <strong>comparing quantitative data against qualitative ranges<\/strong> such as profit or loss against good or bad.
